It was nice talking to her, but she was telling me about all the upgrades they’re doing on their new house and I found myself a little jealous, hehe.

One of the things they did was upgrade to a gorgeous Hansgrohe faucet. We had some really modern faucets in our last house.. from the kitchens to the bathrooms. I told her that the faucet we had in the kitchen in our Florida house spoiled me. It was one of those ones that you can pull off and switch the sprays. Apparently that’s the exact kind they got. JEALOUS!! We have an old nasty faucet here. As I say time and time again, I cannot WAIT to buy a house!

I always see stuff online about Outer Banks vacation rentals and I decided to look into it a little bit. There’s a company called Carolina Designs who leases out a lot of these GORGEOUS vacation homes out there. The prices are really reasonable which surprised me. I’ve always wanted to go on a vacation with friends and family and this would be the perfect opportunity. The one house in particular that caught my eye has a private pool and hot tub! Oh, I’d be in heaven. Add that to the fact that there is a VIDEO LIBRARY and a gameroom/sports bar with a pool table. It has a grill outside, as well as amenities for the little guests like a high chair and even a pack n play (That’s one less thing to drag with you, moms).

The more and more I look at this stuff, the more I’m tempted to just start driving, haha. Of course we’d need to plan it all, but cost wise it’s really reasonable and a week there would just melt my stress away. I think perhaps I’ll go talk to the hubby about the idea. :)

We used to drink beer if we decided to have anything, and we’d usually have a bottle of rum around for if we wanted a mixed drink, or if we had friends over. Well, recently I’ve been trying to take better care of myself, but I do enjoy a drink sometimes. So, after doing my research, I decided to try drinking wine. I’ve tried a few different kinds, but I haven’t yet decided what I really like the best. Wine is the one alcohol that can actually be included into a diabetic diet. Of course, getting drunk every night off wine is not what they’re talking about.. maybe 1-2 glasses sometimes.

So far I’ve tried a chardonnay, which I did like. Also a merlot which was okay.. those were both wines I tested in the store. I recently bought a different bottle so we’ll see how that goes. It is quite tasty now that I’m finding more or less what I enjoy more. :)

One of those products was their Latex Gloves. While Latex gloves are mostly used in the medical field, they actually have a wide variety of uses. From cleaning around the house to projects, the uses are endless. I happened to be making a shelf to house my DVDs in which I was using a stain, and I decided that was a good opportunity to try the gloves. The result was great.. I loved that they didn’t have the powder that made my hands feel disgusting. They protected my hands well and no stain got through, which is actually something I’ve had a problem with in the past. I’ve done a video review on them. :)

I got a coupon in the mail for them and it’s SO tempting. I’d love to go there and look at their kitchen gadgets, which is my favorite department. Also, I’d like to look at their kitchen scales. I need something to measure food portions with, as I currently have no idea what different meats and such weigh.

I also need a new bathroom scale, which is in a way related to my need for a kitchen scale, LOL. Ours is just really old and cracked at the top. It still works, but I’d like something nicer that isn’t such an eyesore. It’s definitely not a necessity right now, but maybe soon! :)

I just finished sanding a project I’ve been working on, and my nerves have not quit shaking from the sander. The project is a DVD shelf. I’ve been wanting to make a custom one for a while, as I want one of a certain size, and I want it to hang on my wall, rather than stand on the floor. I built it (with the help of Matthew, my nail-hander-guy) the other night, spending nearly two hours making sure all the measurements were PERFECT. Yesterday I filled any gaps, cracks or holes with stainable wood patch, and this morning I sanded it, cleaned it and applied the first coat of stain! I am so excited to have this shelf finally, and it’ll allow me to use the bookshelves the DVDs are currently on for something else. I’m trying REALLY hard to be patient though so that I go slow and do everything right. :)

I have to wait 4 hours for the first coat to dry, and I can apply a second. I’m gonna go browse buy.com for some things I’d like around the house (I’ve got my eye on the Hamilton Beach Ice Cream Maker on their weekly deals.. $19.99 with free shipping!!) and then get some cleaning done. :)

I’m pretty excited about it. It’s not quite as exciting as maybe a day of atv riding but I’ll take it. That’s what you settle for when you have a family, hehe. Sometimes I’m jealous of my friends who get to go camping on the weekends.. go out to the lake, maybe even drive a ways out of town to do so. I have a two year old, so a lot of that stuff is just not realistic. I can’t wait until he’s older and we can do fun stuff together. In the meantime, for fun, I volunteer at church. Every other weekend I work in the childcare, and I’ve wanted something to do on the alternating weekends that I DON’T work with the kids. Finally, after exchanging a billion e-mails with the girl that sets all this up, who also happens to be a friend of the family, I am on the schedule! I work alternating weekends in the cafe from 9:45-1:15. Matthew will be in the child care during this time. I’m pretty thrilled!

They need to get on it! LOL. I actually called my realtor last THURSDAY because there is a plumbing leak upstairs. It looks like the toilet tank is leaking, and there was one of those blue bleach things in there.. so when it leaked, the shower curtain soaked up the blue bleach water and it’s RUINED. I’m so upset. There’s also the fact that my front door lock isn’t working consistently. It’s not a HUGE deal, but it’s annoying. I mean.. there’s three locks, plus when I’m home there’s a chain on the door, PLUS the alarm system.. but it makes locking and unlocking the door quite a hassle. Maybe I can talk them into getting some nice Schlage locks or something! I will have to write myself a note so that I remember to call them in the morning. :)

I know I need to learn to be more comfortable with myself.. maybe one day I’ll be able to wear plus size lingerie without the low self confidence that often plagues me.

I’ve thought about going and getting my nails and stuff done.. maybe get my eyebrows professionally done. I just need some things to boost my self esteem! Once I lose enough weight I will be able to go get a new wardrobe and I know that will REALLY help. :)

I’ve had my share of laptops, and Jeremiah even has a netbook, but I still always go back to using my desktop. We both had laptops for a while, and I ended up trading up for a desktop. Jeremiah kept talking about netbooks and ended up purchasing one right before we moved to Texas. He really likes it and is apparently still in love with it months later. I can only stand being on a laptop for a limited amount of time, so I can’t imagine trying to use a netbook on a regular basis!
