I’ve started drinking wine. We used to drink beer if we decided to have anything, and we’d usually have a bottle of rum around for if we wanted a mixed drink, or if we had friends over. Well, recently I’ve been trying to take better care of myself, but I do enjoy a drink sometimes. So, after doing my research, I decided to try drinking wine. I’ve tried a few different kinds, but I haven’t yet decided what I really like the best. Wine is the one alcohol that can actually be included into a diabetic diet. Of course, getting drunk every night off wine is not what they’re talking about.. maybe 1-2 glasses sometimes.

So far I’ve tried a chardonnay, which I did like. Also a merlot which was okay.. those were both wines I tested in the store. I recently bought a different bottle so we’ll see how that goes. It is quite tasty now that I’m finding more or less what I enjoy more.

We have a date with my sister in law, Matthew’s Aunt, at the pool around 11:30. Then later tonight we’re going to Jeremiah’s Aunt’s house for some dinner and socializing. One of his cousin’s is getting married and the wedding shower was last Friday. We didn’t make it because we were up in Austin and got stuck in traffic, but I wanted to give them the gift I got off their registry. So it’s kind of a dual motive date.

The last couple of days I’ve been super busy. My mom was in town but left on Sunday. I cleaned part of Sunday evening and Monday, and did most of the yard work. Yesterday I stayed inside and got some stuff organized, including finally moving all of our “desky stuff” downstairs. I moved the desk downstairs months ago, but the filing cabinet, shelf for the printers and some other things were still sitting in the loft.

I still have a few things to finish in terms of yardwork, and quite a few things to still do around the house, but if I stretch them out, it keeps me busy longer so that I have something to do each day for a while.

I’m thinking about taking Matthew on a vacation once he’s a little older. It’s hard with daddy not around to plan things with us, so it’s easy to just sit here and never leave home. However, I’d like to take him somewhere, just the two of us. I thought of going somewhere near where Jeremiah is stationed.. maybe looking into Branson vacations or something. We could plan the trip close to when he might have a day or two off work (he doesn’t even get weekends off right now) so that we could maybe drive up to see him, then go back. I’ve been looking at all our options and think it would be something really fun to do.. to just have good mommy and son bonding time without the stress of being stuck at home.
